DumbTask

DumbTask Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 14, 2026

DumbTask is built by a single developer. This policy is written in plain language because the app's privacy story is simple: your data stays on your device.

What DumbTask stores

Where your data lives

All task data is saved to a single plain-text file on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, iOS may sync that file to your other devices through iCloud Drive. This is handled entirely by Apple's operating system, not by DumbTask. Your preferences (theme, font, size) are stored locally in standard iOS app settings.

What DumbTask does not do

iCloud sync

If your device has iCloud enabled, your task file may sync via iCloud Drive. This sync is managed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. DumbTask does not control, intercept, or process this sync — it simply reads and writes a local file that iOS may replicate across your devices.

You can disable iCloud sync for DumbTask in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive on your device.

Children's privacy

DumbTask does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to collect.

Data deletion

Your task data is a file on your device. Delete the app and the file goes with it. If iCloud sync is active, the file will also be removed from iCloud Drive when you delete it from your device. Preferences stored in iOS settings are removed when the app is uninstalled.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on the DumbTask landing page with a new effective date.
